Caption:   Pacific Gas & Electric substation (1936). A natural gas and electricity substation was built on Rogers Street (now Whipple) in 1931. The plant included a warehouse, garage, machine shop, paint shop, and administrative offices. The substation served the vicinity from the bay to the coast between Belmont and Woodside.
