| Caption: | Tribolet Boarding House front entrance (c.1890). The Tribolet Boarding House opened on Bridge Street (now called Broadway) in 1876, and was originally called the Foreigner's House. In 1880, the name was changed to the Farmer's House because rooms were primarily rented to local farmers. The room rates were changed according to the price of grain. The Tribolet Family purchased the establishment in 1885, offering workingmen a square meal and a a good room at a fair price. Shown in this photograph are Mr. and Mrs. Tribolet and their son Henry standing in front of the entrance to the boarding house. | ||
