Caption:   President-elect Hoover riding in automobile (1928). The 31st President of the United States, Herbert Hoover, visited Redwood City soon after his election in 1928. The town council sponsored a special parade so that local residents could see Hoover. Shown in this photograph riding in a convertible automobile are Hoover at right, and Mayor Henry Beeger at left. The man in the middle is unidentified. Hoover was president from 1929 to 1933.
