Caption:   Lathrop House exterior (1988). The Lathrop House was built in 1863 by Benjamin Lathrop, San Mateo County's first Clerk and Recorder. The house was subsequently owned by Patrick E. Connor, a Civil War general, and Joel Mansfield, a county sheriff. The house is located at 627 Hamilton Street and is on the National Register of Historic Places. This photograph was taken by Martha Jane Stanton.
