Caption:   Industry: Armour Co., Meat Packing Plant, 1962. Demolition of smoke stack, view 1. The plant began operation on East Grand Avenue in 1936. Armour had formerly been a partner in Western Meat Co. In 1937, it bought Virden Packing Co., which was also located on East Grand Ave. A new building was built in1962 at 290 Utah Ave. It closed in 1986.
