Caption:   Businesses on Main Street damaged by earthquake (1906). Damage in Redwood City from the 1906 earthquake was worse for brick buildings than those constructed from wood. Although there was extensive damage in downtown, there were no deaths and only minor injuries. The large building in the center of the photograph was called the Wahl Building. It was located at the end of Broadway, and housed the telegraph office, Hull Hardware store, and Ryan's drug store.
