Caption: | Pisano Bakery exterior (c.1950). The Pisano Bakery opened in Redwood City in 1950 in a building that is still standing at the corner of Main and Chestnut Streets. The original workforce consisted of Joseph Pisano and his son-in-law, Arlington Burns. Together the two men were able to bake 200 loaves a day. Within six years, the business had outgrown the Main Street building, and Pisano's moved to the corner of Veterans Blvd. and Maple Street. Joseph Pisano died in 1958, and the business eventually moved to the East Bay. | ||
