Caption: | Tile walkway in front of Sequoia High School (1949). Sequoia High School was founded in Redwood City in 1895. It was the first high school in San Mateo County. Classes were held on the third floor of the Grammar School until a separate high school building was constructed on Broadway in 1904. In 1924, the students moved to the current high school campus at El Camino and Brewster. Shown in this photograph is the tile walkway of stones representing each year of a graduating class. The walkway was started in 1927. | ||
