Caption:   George Holden (c.1890). George Holden was born in Boston in 1860 and came to Redwood City at age 14 with his parents. He was employed by P.P. Chamberlain in his general store until Chamberlain's retirement in 1916. George married Ella Brady and they had two children. One of the daughters, Alice became the San Mateo County deputy tax collector. George Holden died in 1918.
