Caption:   Hughes Family and guest in front of the Hughes home (1890). The Hughes Family came to Redwood City from Ohio in 1876. James Hughes (middle, standing) was the superintendent of streets for Redwood City until 1895. His wife, Louise (left, seated) was an active member of the Sequoia chapter of Eastern Star for over sixty years.
