Caption:   Smith Family home (c.1880). Captain Andrew Smith built the first house in Redwood City in 1851. It was located on the south side of Bridge Street (now Broadway), near Redwood Creek. Smith subsequently built a much larger home, shown in this photograph, in the foothills west of El Camino. This photograph was taken by O.V. Lange.
