Caption: | San Mateo County courthouse building (c.1920). Using the foundation and dome structure of the third courthouse building, a fourth courthouse was built after the 1906 earthquake. County officials used various city buildings to conduct business until the the new courthouse was completed in 1910. The eagles at the base of each dome rib have been removed; only those over the side entrances are still there. The courthouse block is located between Broadway, Hamilton, Marshall, and Winslow Streets in Redwood City, the county seat of San Mateo County. The San Mateo County Historical Association now occupies the fourth courthouse building. | ||
