Caption:   Cast of Sequoia High School play (1934). Sequoia High School was founded in Redwood City in 1895, and was the first high school in San Mateo County. In 1924, students moved to the present-day campus located at El Camino and Brewster. Sequoia students formed a drama club called the Sequoia Players at the suggestion of Otis Carrington, who was hired as a music and drama instructor in 1907. Shown in this photograph is the cast of the play entitled "Late Christopher Bean", written by Sidney Howard. The play was performed in McKinley Junior High School auditorium while the Sequoia theater was undergoing earthquake retrofitting.
