Caption: | Carnegie Library building exterior (1905). The Carnegie Library building, located at the corner of Broadway and Jefferson Avenue, was built in 1905 with a $10,000 grant from the Carnegie Foundation. The building was partially destroyed by the 1906 earthquake, but the Carnegie Foundation gave Redwood City another $6,000 to rebuild the library. The building was used as a library until 1939. During World War II, the building was used by the Red Cross. The building was torn down in 1948. | ||
