Caption:   San Mateo County Auditor's Office (1921). County Auditor Edward Stack is seated behind desk. Note the electrical cord connected from the stenograph to the light fixture. The Auditor's office was located on the second floor of Courthouse no. 4. The courthouse block is located between Broadway, Hamilton, Marshall, and Winslow Streets in Redwood City, the county seat of San Mateo County. The San Mateo County Historical Association now occupies the Courthouse no. 4 building.
