Caption:   Marching band stopped in front of Sequoia Theater (1940). A marching band from the July 4th parade waits for the signal to proceed. The July 4th parade was first organized in Redwood City in 1939. The Sequoia Theater first opened in Redwood City at 2114 Broadway in 1917. A new and larger building was built at 2155 Broadway in 1929 and was renamed the Fox Theater in 1950.
