Caption:   Redwood City Water Works water tanks (c.1890). Built in 1876 at the corner of what is now Chestnut Street and Middlefield Road, the tanks stored a major part of the city's water. The tanks collapsed in January, 1895 causing flooding on Chestnut Street.
