Caption:   Sequoia High School front entrance (1924). Sequoia High School was founded in Redwood City in 1895. It was the first high school in San Mateo County. Classes were held on the third floor of the Grammar School until a separate high school building was constructed on Broadway in 1904. In 1924, the students moved to the current high school campus at El Camino and Brewster. Shown in this photograph is the main building on the day it was dedicated in May of 1924. The tower is named after Clarence Argo, who was principal of the school from 1921 to 1948.
