Caption:   Climate Best sign over El Camino (1946). An electric sign was erected over El Camino Real at the Broadway intersection in 1926. The slogan "Climate Best By Government Test" was created by Wilbur Doxsee during a slogan contested sponsored by the Board of Realtors and the Chamber of Commerce in 1925. The sign was moved north of Whipple Avenue in 1947.
