Caption: | Earthquake damage to the Sequoia High School building (1906). Damage in Redwood City from the 1906 earthquake was worse for brick buildings than those constructed from wood. Although there was extensive damage in downtown, there were no deaths and only minor injuries. The building was completed in 1904, and rebuilt after the earthquake. It was used by the high school until 1924, and then converted to a grammar school. The damaged Carnegie Library building can be seen at the left of the photograph. | ||
