Caption:   Louis Dematteis inside the Fox Theater (1990). Retired Superior Court Judge Louis Dematteis holds a program from the opening of the Sequoia Theater. Dematteis was an usher for the theater when the theater first opened at its current site in 1929. It was renamed the Fox Theater in 1950. The Fox Theater building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. This photograph was taken by Times-Tribune staff photographer Joe Melena.
