Caption:   Industry: Western Meat Company, 1890's, snow on train. Located in the 200 Block of East Grand Ave from 1891-1932. A meatpacking plant that produced beef, pork, and mutton products. One of the major stockholders was Gustavus Swift, and the company became Swift & Company from1932-1968. It was also affiliated with South San Francisco Union Stockyards.
