Caption:   Sand courts behind Redwood City Grammar School (c.1915). Redwood City Grammar School opened in 1895, and was located on Broadway across the street from the county courthouse. The first two floors housed over 300 elementary school students, and Sequoia High School students occupied the third floor. Shown here are the sand courts that were part of the play yard behind the school. The building was torn down in 1927.
