Caption:   The Gallo Wine Company was headquartered in South San Francisco from 1956-1997. From 1956-1966 it was located at 225 Shaw Road; from 1966-1997 at 440 Forbes Boulevard. This picture shows the control panel at the Gallo Sales Company Warehouse in South San Francisco. This panel can be used to automatically fill store orders at the rate of 1500 cases of wine an hour. This automatic warehousing system, the first of its kind in the United States, was designed for the firm by Matthews Conveyer Company, San Carlos, California, and the Rundel Electric Company of Millbrae, California.
