Caption:   Spuri Studios, 1927-1985. From 1927-1975, was located at 338 Grand Avenue, from 1975-1981, at 381 Grand Avenue. Portrait and group photographer. Would whistle like a bird so that subject being photographed would relax. Favorite of school children when he would take school pictures. All of his "colored" pictures were hand-painted at the studio by a woman who always wore a "beret" and a painters' smock.
