Caption: | Eureka Brewery wooden building (1881). The Eureka Brewery was founded in 1869 by George Plump and J.H. Offerman. It was located on the corner of Main and Broadway, where the Sequoia Hotel now stands. Claus Hadler bought the business in 1873. The corner soon became known as Eureka Corner, and included a vegetable market and dry goods store, as well as the brewery. Hadler eventually built a larger brewery farther down Main Street. | ||
