Caption:   Redwood City Lumber Company main office (1897). The Redwood City Lumber Company was founded in 1891 by G. F. Gray. Shown in this photograph are employees and wagons in front of the company office on Spruce Street. The company changed ownership in 1910, and was renamed the Gray-Thorning Lumber Company. Gray-Thorning had a lumber yard and hardware store located on El Camino until 1940.
