Caption:   Lumber wagon on Main St. (c.1900). Lumber wagons used to be a common sight as they travelled through Redwood City. Shown in this photograph is a lumberman resting his horse-team along Main Street while waiting to unload lumber at the Redwood City port. The lumber, wagons, and horses all belonged to the Hanson-Ackerson Lumber Company, founded in the 1880's by Danish immigrant Charles Hanson.
