Caption:   Redwood City Laundry exterior (1905). The Redwood City Laundry was originally called the French Steam Laundry when it first opened at 129 Main Street in the late 1880's. The business had just been renamed and was under new management when this photograph was taken in 1905. A year later, a fire burned much of the upstairs story, but the business was still able to continue operations. The laundry was sold and renamed several times after that and finally closed in the 1930's.
