Caption:   Stafford Bros. Grocery Store exterior (1910). James Stafford started a grocery store business in Redwood City in 1875. His son, Daniel, joined the business in 1892. After James' retirement in 1901, another son joined the business and the store became known as the Stafford Bros. grocery store. The store was located on Broadway, between Hamilton and Winslow Streets. The Stafford brothers broke up their partnership in 1917, and each of them continued in the grocery business with other partners. Daniel was the mayor of Redwood City from 1930 to 1932.
