Caption:   Davies Auto Repair and Gas Station (1926). Nelson Davies opened an auto repair business in 1916 at the corner of El Camino and Vera Streets. The service included cleaning, repairing, and selling automobiles. Nelson turned the repair shop over to his two younger brothers, Thomas and Albert, in 1923. The brothers expanded the business, adding a Willys-Knight Overland dealership and eventually a Chevrolet dealership in the early 1930's. In 1942, the business was relocated across El Camino on the corner of Jefferson Avenue. By the time the Davies sold the business in 1990, it was the oldest family-owned Chevrolet dealership in Northern California.
